I know Coconut Oil has innumerable benefits on health. But will it suit my hair type?

I’ve been a fan of coconut oil for a really long time. It is a highly nourishing oil with hundreds of uses, and lately, I’ve run across many sources touting the benefits of coconut oil for hair. It can certainly be beneficial for certain hair types when used correctly, but many sources recommend using it in ways that may do more harm than good.

Before you go pour coconut oil all over your head, make sure know how to use it correctly to get the benefits without harming your hair!

Why Use Coconut Oil for Hair?
Coconut oil is the richest natural source of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), special types of fatty acid with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that are very nourishing to the body. It is especially high in the C12 chain of MCFAs known as Lauric Acid.
Lauric acid is naturally occurring in breast milk as well and is supportive of hormone health and cellular health. This beneficial property of coconut oil is also one of the reasons it can help prevent protein loss in hair (for some people). Coconut oil’s structure allows it to penetrate hair in ways that other oils are not able to, which is why some people notice amazing results relatively quickly when using coconut oil for hair.

Coconut oil may clog pores and cause irritation for some scalp types (just as it does on certain skin types), and is best used directly on the hair and not the scalp (of those with the right type of hair).
Start with small amounts: Again, more isn’t better. Especially until you know how your hair handles coconut oil, use a small amount and see how hair responds.
Add other ingredients: Adding other oils can change how coconut oil affects hair. As a deep treatment, blending coconut oil with honey and yogurt may offer more benefit than coconut oil alone.
Eat the Coconut Oil for Maximum Benefit

For all the beneficial properties of coconut oil, hair doesn’t have the ability to digest or metabolize coconut oil like the digestive system does. It can offer some benefit on a strictly chemical level, but you won’t be able to fully utilize the beneficial properties of coconut oil when it is used externally or in hair.

Will eating cashews make me fat?

Somebody told me that eating cashews would make me fat! Is that true?

The answer is a “NO”, on the contrary, compared to other nuts, they contain low-fat content which is in the form of oleic acid. Oleic acid is good for the heart. Cashews also happen to be free of cholesterol and have anti-oxidants which help keep the heart healthy.
Magnesium present in the cashews helps them to prevent the rise in blood pressure.
One major benefit of cashew nuts is that they help fight cancer. They have high copper content and also have flavonoids called proanthocyanidins which help fight cancer cells in colon cancer.
The copper in cashews helps in maintaining the right color of the hair.
Cashews have magnesium and calcium, both of which are important for bone health.
The magnesium in cashews ensures that there is enough magnesium on the bones’ surface and calcium cannot enter the nerve cells, thus ensuring healthy nerves.
Cashews have selenium, magnesium, and copper which all act as antioxidants.
They help in growth, digestion, and development of the body.
Despite being considered fatty, cashews have good cholesterol. Despite popular belief, it is good to eat cashew at least once or twice a week.
The risk of developing gallstones reduces by one-fourth, with a daily intake of cashew nuts.

Do you burp a lot and want to avoid getting embarrassed?

It is normal only when it happens occasionally, or after a meal, for someone used to a contented meal every single time. On the other hand, excessive burping(dakaar) or belching can happen due to two reasons.

1.) Excessive air intake:
There are multiple ways that excessive air can reach the food pipe. Sucking on straws, chewing gum constantly and ill-fitting dentures are some common reasons for burping.
2.) Digestive problems: Ulcers in the stomach, prolonged gastric, gallstones and rarely, esophageal or stomach cancers can also cause burping.

However, you could prevent burping by:

*Eat and/or drink slowly: Most of us are pressed for time and eating and/or drinking has now become a task that needs to be finished quickly. Eating fast causes air to be swallowed, and therefore one of the best ways to stop burping is to eat slowly. Sitting in a calm, relaxing environment when eating also allows one to enjoy the food and avoid or stop burping.
*Avoid talking while eating: There is always so much to catch up, whether at home or outside. So, talking while eating is a common practice. This is not just bad manners, but there is also a lot of air that is swallowed, which leads to burping. A solution is to chew the food properly, which not just helps stop burping, but also aids in better food digestion by mixing it adequately with saliva.
*Substitute coke with water: Carbonated drinks are another reason for belching. Replacing them with water, tea, or anything noncarbonated is advisable, not just from burping perspective, but also from the excessive sugar consumption. Carbonated drinks are just sugar solutions, and are absolutely of no nutritive value.
*Avoid straw: When possible, drink from a glass and avoid straws. This reduces the amount of gas taken in and helps stop burping
*Quit smoking: Quitting it has multiple health benefits, and getting rid of smoking is just one of them.
*Dentures: Ill-fitting dentures can be a reason for belching, and so they should be checked and corrected, if required, in a person who has persistent burping.
*Chewing gum: Constantly chewing gum contributes to burping, and so avoiding chewing gum or sucking on hard candy is another way to control burping.
*Avoid certain foods: Foodstuffs like broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, sprouts, and lentils can produce excessive gas and should be avoided in people who have persistent burping.

Is this a right time to switch to a non-dairy alternative?

Here’s why –
Apart from Lactose, Calcium, and Protein in Cow’s milk, there are ingredients like:
1.) A Veritable Hormone Cocktail: including pituitary, steroid, hypothalamic, and thyroid hormones (remember most cows are extremely stressed)
2.) Gastrointestinal Peptides:
Nerve and epidermal growth factors, and the growth inhibitors MDGI and MAF
rBGH (Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone): a genetically engineered hormone directly linked to breast, colon and prostate cancer. This is injected into cows to increase milk production.
3.) Pus: National averages show at least 322 million cell-counts of pus per glass! This is well above the human limit for pus-intake and has been directly linked to paratuberculosis bacteria, as well as Crohn’s disease. The pus comes from infected udders on the cows known as mastitis.
4.) Blood Cells: The USDA allows up to 1.5 million white blood cells per milliliter of commonly-sold milk. [3] Yes, you are drinking cows blood in the milk and the USDA allows this!
5.) Antibiotics: Currently, cows are in such a state of disease and mistreatment that they are continually being injected with antibiotic medicines, and rubbed down with chemical-laden ointments to deal with their chronic infections. Currently, regulating committees only test for 4 of the 85 drugs in dairy cows. This means that the other 81 drugs in cow’s milk are coming directly into your glasses and bodies. Estimates show that 38{e0fb0f696686b16337a747ac67dba744e17986229a0d4a47700565830f15b026} of milk in the U.S. is “contaminated with sulfa drugs or other antibiotics,” according to a study by the Centre for Science in the Public Interest and published in the Wall Street Journal on December 29, 1989. A study from the FDA data showed that over half of all milk was laden with traces of pharmaceuticals yet nothing has been done to control this.

The role of Enzymes in weight management

What is pH and how does it influence our health?

The pH range is from 0 to 14, with 7.0 being neutral. Anything above 7.0 is alkaline, anything below 7.0 is considered acidic. A healthy blood pH without cancer has acid + alkaline balance almost equal. Actually, a healthy body is slightly alkaline measuring approximately 7.4.

Highly processed foods have very little health benefits. The ingredients in these foods are not anymore in their natural form. You can’t expect the body to accept these food-like substances without some kind of side effects like the conditions listed below. Processed foods are often acidic, causing excess mucus production and increasing inflammation. Depending on individuals you can expect almost any results especially when bad food is combined with bad eating habits e.g. eating too fast and overeating.

How can someone determine his/her acid levels?
A heavily coated tongue in the morning is one way to see if there is excess mucous in the gut or a bad breath without any reason. Acidity often causes chronic inflammation. This can be verified by testing white blood cell levels.

8.) Taking a warm bath can also help lessen heavy menstrual flow, and the warm water will alleviate lower abdomen pain, and relax the muscles.

16.) Eliminate trans-fatty acids, found in commercially baked goods such as cookies, crackers, cakes, French fries, onion rings, donuts, processed foods, and margarine.
17.) Avoid intake of caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco.
